This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use Flornali and related services (the “Services”).

1) WHAT FLORNALI DOES

Flornali transforms your travel experiences into unforgettable narratives. You can upload travel photos, write notes, add geo-tags, view your journeys on a visual timeline, browse your personal travel archive, and view historical journey statistics.

2) INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information in the following categories:

2.1 Account and Profile Information (You Provide)

  • Name
  • Username
  • Email address

2.2 Content You Provide

  • Photos you upload
  • Notes and text you type into the App
  • Geo-tags or location labels you add to your entries
  • Customer support content (for example, messages, attachments, and any information you choose to provide)

2.3 Location Information (With Your Permission)

If you allow location access, we may collect:

  • Precise location (where supported and permitted by device settings), or
  • Approximate location

You can control location permissions in your device settings and within the App (where available).

2.4 Automatically Collected Information

When you use the Services, we may automatically collect:

  • Device information (such as device model, operating system version, language, time zone, and app version)
  • Usage statistics (such as feature usage, interactions, and performance metrics)
  • Crash logs and diagnostic data (to identify and fix stability issues)

2.5 Cookies and Similar Technologies (Where Applicable)

If parts of the Services are accessed through a web-based interface, we may use cookies (and similar technologies such as local storage and web beacons) for:

  • Login/session management
  • Remembering preferences
  • Basic analytics and performance measurement

You can manage cookies in your browser settings. Some cookies are necessary for the Services to function.

3) HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and support the Services
  • Create and display your timeline, archive, geo-tagging features, and statistics
  • Personalize your experience (for example, preferences and recommendations within the App)
  • Improve features, performance, and reliability (including through analytics and crash diagnostics)
  • Protect the security and integrity of the Services, prevent fraud/abuse, and enforce our terms
  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests

We do not sell your personal information.

4) PHOTO, FACE, AND BIOMETRIC INFORMATION

  • No face recognition / biometrics: We do not perform facial recognition or create biometric identifiers/templates for identification.
  • Limited processing: If the Services process photos or text to generate outputs (for example, rendering a timeline view or generating a travel narrative output), the processing is for providing the feature to you.
  • Not for training/marketing: We do not use your photos or text to train advertising profiles, and we do not use them for marketing purposes without your consent.

5) SERVER-SIDE CONTENT PROCESSING (INCLUDING OPTIONAL AI-ASSISTED FEATURES, IF ENABLED)

Some features may require uploading photos and/or text to our servers to process and generate results (for example, generating formatted narratives, summaries, or other outputs based on your travel content, where such features are available and you choose to use them).

When server-side processing is used:

  • Processing location: Your uploaded photos and/or text are processed on servers operated by or for Flornali (i.e., our own infrastructure or infrastructure providers acting under our instructions).
  • No third-party sharing for processing: We do not share your uploaded photos or text with third parties for their own purposes.
  • Deletion after processing: The uploaded inputs used for generation are deleted from the processing pipeline immediately after the processing is completed, except where storage is necessary to provide the feature you requested (for example, saving the output you choose to keep).
  • Your control: You control whether you upload content and whether you generate/store outputs. If you do not upload or generate, the processing will not occur.

6) HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We share information only on a minimum-necessary basis in the following situations:

6.1 With Your Consent or At Your Direction

We may share information when you ask us to, such as exporting or sharing content using your device’s share features.

6.2 Service Providers (Processors)

We may use trusted service providers to help run the Services (for example, hosting, storage, customer support tooling, and analytics/crash reporting). These providers process information only under our instructions and are bound by contractual obligations to protect it.

6.3 Legal Requirements and Protection of Rights

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with law, regulation, legal process, or lawful requests
  • Protect the rights, property, and safety of Flornali, our users, or the public
  • Detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues

6.4 Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.

7) INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. When we transfer personal information internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent mechanisms, as required by applicable law.

8) SECURITY

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including:

  • Encryption in transit and at rest (where appropriate)
  • Access controls and least-privilege practices
  • Regular security reviews/audits and monitoring
  • Backup and recovery measures

No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and reduce risks.

9) DATA RETENTION

We retain information as follows (unless a longer period is required by law):

  • Account information and core content: for the duration of your account
  • After account deletion: we delete or anonymize account-related data within 30 days, where feasible (some residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period)
  • Usage statistics: up to 12 months
  • Customer support records: up to 6 months

You may request deletion earlier where applicable, subject to legal and security requirements.

10) YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access and obtain a copy of your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Delete personal information
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Withdraw consent (for example, for location access), without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal

  • We will respond within 5 business days, and may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

11) CHILDREN / MINIMUM AGE

The Services are intended for users aged 17 and older. If you believe a minor under 17 has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12) CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new Effective Date. Your continued use of the Services after the update means you understand the updated policy.
